RARE 2ND PATTERN NAZI GERMAN ENGRAVED NAVY PRESENTATION DAGGER & SCABBARD WITH 1ST PATTERN BLADE
A rare combination of a 2nd Pattern Nazi German Navy dagger & scabbard but with a 1st pattern blade. These combinations are seen sometimes when a senior officer was awarded a 2nd pattern dagger but chose to keep the 1st pattern blade. Made by F. W. Holler of Solingen. Double blood grooved blade, with correct 1st pattern engraving to both blade edges, showing a sailing ship, anchor with entwined rope and floral motif. Ivorine grip with wire wrapping is in good condition, brass metal work retains a good amount of the original gilding. Interlocking button, in good working condition. Lightning bolt engraved scabbard in good condition retaining most of it’s gilding with only one dent near the second suspension ring.
Over all a fine condition dagger with a rare combination with the 1st pattern blade.
