NAZI GERMANY RAD REICH LABOUR SERVICE LEADER OFFICERS DAGGER HEWER BY ERNST ERICH WITTE

Ernst Erich Witte of Solingen made RAD (Reichs Arbeits Dientse) German Labour Service leader’s/officer’s hewer and scabbard. Hilt fittings show light surface wear & age overall, with early war made features to eagle head pommel. Pearl coloured celluloid grip plates show light surface wear, with one small hairline crack to lower left panel. Plated fittings show light age & wear, but generally good. 26 cm bowie type blade deeply etched motto retains some of its light grey background frosting Arbeit adelt (work enriches you). Blade shows little or no wear. The scabbard is very good, with good patina overall with light crazing to plating, with good age patination overall. Generally a very good presentable RAD Leader’s Hewer. Very rare to find an R.A.D. Leader’s dagger made by Witte.
