RARE WW1 ERA GERMAN SENIOR FORESTRY DAGGER, WITH SCABBARD & LEATHER SHEATH
A WW1 era German Senior Forrestry Dagger Hirschfanger, scabbard & leather frog. Gilt washed brass D shaped guard, with hoof quillon, half clamshell with cream ivorine grips, with fixed brass acorns to both sides (one missing). 35cm long, double etched unmakrked blade. Etchings are the classic hunting/forestry style, with animals, hunters, tress & floral patterns. Cutting edge heavily sharpened. Gilt washed brass and leather scabbard fits the blade perfectly. Leather frog retains the nickel belt suspension clip & what looks like paper remains of order tag to rear. Generally very good overall, measuring 50cm in length.
