Good WW2 German wound badge in black & silver, with award documents to Stabsgefreiter Helmut Strümpel, of the 1st Company, 239th Grenadier Infantry Regiment. Documents dated 30th July 1941 & 16th March 1943, for wounds received ‘In the field’. Ink signed by 2 different Captains, with regimental stamp to each. Documents measures 138mm x 198mm. Black badge is the early brass type, with pin & catch. Silver type is mid war solid zinc type, with remains of silver wash, maker numbered 65 (Klein & Quenzer), with pin and catch.
