***SOLD*** This is a very good condition 1856 Pattern British Pioneers Sawback Short Sword Sidearm. It has a broad 57cm long blade with deeply cut sawback teeth section to top of blade. The forte shows polished acceptance stamps etc, with what looks to be WALLS as the manufacturer. It has a heavy ribbed Brass handle with full knuckle bow, slotted at the base for lanyard. The bottom rib shows a stamp of ‘8’, as does the frog stud on the scabbard. The sidearm is complete with original leather scabbard with brass mounts. All stitching and leather of the scabbard...

This is a very good condition 1856 Pattern British Pioneers Sawback Short Sword Sidearm. It has a broad 57cm long blade with deeply cut sawback teeth section to top of blade. The forte shows polished acceptance stamps etc, with what looks to be WALLS as the manufacturer. It has a heavy ribbed Brass handle with full knuckle bow, slotted at the base for lanyard. The bottom rib shows a stamp of ‘8’, as does the frog stud on the scabbard. The sidearm is complete with original leather scabbard with brass mounts. All stitching and leather of the scabbard is intact. The throat of the upper mount is crisply marked by the English manufacturer 'Mole'. A very collectable piece indeed and one to show your mates around the bar after 6 or more cold ones.
