Offered is an exceptionally well cared for circa. 1800 British Flintlock Blunderbuss.The mahogany woodwork is in very good condition, with minor wear overall, good age patina overall with no cracks or issues. Checquered hand grip and shaped cheek frame. Brasswork overall shows hand engraving overall. Retains the original ramrod and flintlock hammer, which cocks and fires well. Good age patina to metal work. Shows acceptance marks and issue during the reign of Victoria and William. Not marked, but most likely Tower produced in London. The spring bayonet is in working condition, and is held in place by the bayonet clasp, located next to the firing mechanism. 1 1/4 inch (28mm) muzzle width.
This piece measures 71cm long and retains the spring loaded 25cm long traingular bayonet. A rare piece in great condition.
