KIA SOMME 1916 LIVERPOOL REGIMENT WW1 1914 – 15 STAR MEDAL 20058 JOSEPH REDFERN

Offered is an original 1914-15 Star Medal with ribbon. Impressed named 20058 PTE J. C. REDFERN. L’POOL R. Joseph C. Redfern was born in Birkenhead and lived there prior to the outbreak of the Great War. He joined the 13th Battalion of the King’s Liverpool Regiment and served in France from 25 September 1915. He was killed in action on 14 July 1916 – during the opening day of the Battle of Bazentin Ridge – and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
