WW2 ERA GERMAN SA GREATCOAT WITH HOME GUARD ARMBAND
Early coarse brown wool type SA Greatcoat with an armband for civilian service to the armed forces. Greatcoat has the correct early type steel pressed buttons all sewn in place and a hook and eye at the neck. Armband shows correct printing style and it attached using a single period safety pin. Interior shows expected wear and tear with period repairs showing, nice clear size markings.
The Greatcoat shows a good amount of service wear and period repairs possibly meaning this is a reissued SA coat for civilian wear when in the service of the armed forces or handed out during a winter relief drive. This Greatcoat has great character and real “been there, done that” look to it and despite its wear and tear, the coat is in good solid condition.
