Offered for sale is an original immediate post-WW1 German Silesian Eagle Order 1st Class. The badge features a black enamelled eagle, with silver serrated feathers and features. The lower silver bar ‘FUR SCHLESIEN’ relates to the campaign against the Polish independence fighters in the region of Silesia, with the eagle’s chest sporting a silver crescent moon and cross. Vaulted type, with white frosting reverse and screw post for insertion of the clamshell screw back disc. Measures 31mm x 41mm and is in near mint condition. Comes in it’s original LDO jewellers card box. A nice commercially produced piece, most likely made in the early to mid 1930’s.
