>Offered is an original 1881 Pattern cavalry officer's sword, as worn by a German Army officer of the 1st Company, Guard Train Battalion. The sword features plain nickel finish pommel & backstrap, featuring pierced guard, with leather finger tab, attached to the composite grip (chip to top) with full wire wrap.
The slightly curved nickel blade is 87 cm long and is maker marked to W.K.C. of Solingen with King's & Knight's trademark. The blade is etched to both sides, showing Garde Star, officer on horse, trophies of arms, spiked helmets, profile of Kaiser Wilhem II etc. Centre band etched for: Willy Estorf, 1. Comp. Garde Train Batl (1st Company of the Guard Train battalion - Willy Estorf) and opposite blade Fur Erinnerung an meine Deinstzeit (In Memory of my Service Time).
xedThe black enamel scabbard retains the fixed suspension ring for hanging and large style drag. The scabbard is in overall good condition, with very little noticeable enamel loss.
