PRE WW1 ERA 1890 IMPERIAL PRUSSIAN OFFICERS TRIPLE ETCHED SWORD GERMAN EMPIRE
Offered is a 1890’s era Imperial Prussian Officers Small Sword with original scabbard.
Features a gilded brass guard, with nicely folding half guard. Floral design to guard pommel and quillion, plain “D” knuckle guard with floral embellishment to pommel joint. Gilt wire twist handle binding in very fine condition. The 77cm long spear point blade shows good etchings of foliate patterns with slightly worn Imperial Prussian crowned eagle, military drum, sword & flag centre pieces. Single fullered blade surface show some age spotting as per photos but is straight and unsharpened. Maker marked for Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie of Solingen/Germany. The leather scabbard is in very fine condition, with plain dress upper and lower mounts showing remnants of original gilt-work. Overall length 95cm.
