SOLD Offered is a rare silver mounted 1830’s era British East India Company Officer’s fighting sword & scabbard. The 1822 pattern sword features a silver fitting overall, with a stepped pommel, ornamental back strap, with fish skin grip (repaired to upper right section) with full wire wrap. The 2 branch guard features a leather wrapped knot, with E.I.C. (British East India Company) lion mural to hilt. The 77cm long, slightly curved blade is a cut down, piped backed type, which shows light wear, which has been cleaned, which fits very snugly into the leather, silver mounted scabbard. A rarely seen sword and one for the colonial edged weapon collector.
