Offered is a British made Second World War era Number 7, Mark 1 pattern bayonet with scabbard & uniform frog.
Bayonet features a swivelling steel pommel, with working release latch, with red/brown composition grips, metal guard & barrel attachment ‘O’ ring. The 20.5 cm long steel ‘bowie’ style blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped NO7MK1L (Land Service). The blade being factory sharpened only, with signs of use and light wear. Standard No.5 blackened metal scabbard, with blackened canvas equipment frog. Overall length: 33cm long. The Number 7 bayonets were never extensively issued or used, making these items more sought after than the previous models issued for service with the Lee Enfield’s.
