Offered is an original WW2 German Army commemorative service time wooden wall plaque for the comrades who served at the German Army reporting Offices (Wehrmeldeamter, W.M.A.) in the 5th Armee Korps Gmund between 1940 and 1943. Consists of a 370mm x 310mm ebomy wooden frame, generally verry good, with some small marks. To the centre is a silver washed pewter plaque, of oak leaf laurels, with central german infantry soldier, wearing an M-16 helmet in Reichsheer uniform aiming his carbine. The artists initials F.S. are present underneath the soldier's left elbow. To the base of the larels is a stylised plaque, engraved 'ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE KAMERADEN DES W.M.A. GMÜND N.D. 1940 - 1943'. The frame to rear shows the central plaque was originally bolted through the base and retains it's hanging hook. A very nice display piece indeed.
