Offered is an original 1908-35 India General Service Medal. 36mm wide circular silver medal with claw and ornate scroll swivel ribbon bar with original ‘WAZIRISTAN 1921 – 24’,  and ‘NORTH WEST FRONTIER 19 clasp; the face with the crowned head and shoulders portrait of King George V facing left in coronation robes, with minor divets to right side as pictured, circumscribed ‘GEORGIUS V KAISAR-I-HIND’ (George V Emperor of India); the reverse with a view of Jamrud Fort and the entrance to the Khyber Pass, inscribed ‘INDIA’ on a plaque below with oak and laurel branches to either side; impressed named...

Offered is an original 1908-35 India General Service Medal.

36mm wide circular silver medal with claw and ornate scroll swivel ribbon bar with original ‘WAZIRISTAN 1921 – 24’,  and ‘NORTH WEST FRONTIER 19 clasp; the face with the crowned head and shoulders portrait of King George V facing left in coronation robes, with minor divets to right side as pictured, circumscribed ‘GEORGIUS V KAISAR-I-HIND’ (George V Emperor of India); the reverse with a view of Jamrud Fort and the entrance to the Khyber Pass, inscribed ‘INDIA’ on a plaque below with oak and laurel branches to either side; impressed named on rim to 7763 RFMN DALBAHADUR GURUNG, 2-8 G.R. on the correct ribbon.

The medal was instituted on 1 January 1909 for service in campaigns on India’s borders. The ‘Waziristan 1921-24’ clasp for service in Waziristan between 21 December 1921 and 31 March 1924.
