WW1 AUSTRALIAN 303 RIFLE BAYONET LITHGOW SCABBARD SWORD ARMY 1917 PARADE
Offered is a 1917 dated Australian ‘Lithgow’ made First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard. Bayonet & scabbard features full chromed steel fittings, with pommel #89271, with working release button, with wooden grips and blued metal guard, stamped 3MD (3rd Military District) #55323. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped Lithgow (Lithgow Small Arms Factory), dated 1917. The blade being factory sharpened only. Standard leather & metal Mangrovite 44 marked scabbard, showing light chrome wear from use with canvas frog, with some dents to lower chape. Overall length: 58cm long. An impressive display piece, as worn on parade, being a chromed example.
