Offered is a 1908 Pattern Australian Army issued Trooper’s Cavalry sword – the type famously used by the Australian Light Horsemen. The Sword features a 88cm long single edged blade with fuller. The blade is in very good condition, being unsharpened as issued, with only very light service wear & age staining. Offered is a 1908 Pattern Australian Army issued Trooper’s Cavalry sword – the type famously used by the Australian Light Horsemen.

The Sword features a 88cm long single edged blade with fuller. The blade is in very good condition, being unsharpened as issued, with only very light service wear & age staining. The ricasso is marked EFD (Enfield Small Arms Factory) and manufacture dated for September 1912. There is a re-issue date of 1916 to ricasso. It has dark green enamel to the full steel bowl guard and worn black composite grip with thumb recess and is fitted with its original leather washer. The inner bowl lip shows a stamp '5'. It is complete with its green enamelled steel scabbard, showing light service wear with fixed hanging rings. 1915 date stamp and Australian arrow inside 'D' stamp. Overall length: 112 cm.

This is the first Australian issue stamped 1908 pattern cavalry sword I have come across for many years, so make sure you pick up this piece while it is still available.
