Offered is a 1908 Pattern British or Australian Army Trooper’s Cavalry sword – the type famously used by the Australian Light Horsemen. The Sword features a 89cm long single edged blade with fuller. The blade is in very good condition, being clean and unsharpened, with only very light service wear, with a slightly bent end/spear point from use. The ricasso is marked EFD (Enfield Small Arms Factory) and rubbed manufacture dated 1917. Offered is a 1908 Pattern British or Australian Army Trooper’s Cavalry sword – the type famously used by the Australian Light Horsemen. The Sword features a 89cm long single edged blade with fuller. The blade is in very good condition, being clean and unsharpened, with only very light service wear, with a slightly bent end/spear point from use. The ricasso is marked EFD (Enfield Small Arms Factory) and rubbed manufacture dated 1917. It has the correct field blackened full steel bowl guard and thatched brown composite grip with thumb recess and is fitted with its original leather washer. It is complete with its blackened steel scabbard, showing light service wear with fixed hanging rings, with previous unit markings/striked, one being 5th Dragoon Guards. Overall length: 113 cm. The sword shows light use and manufactured in the 4th year of the Great War, being one of the better condition cavalry swords we have seen in the last 30 years.
