**SOLD** WW1 BRITISH ARMY 1821 PATTERN LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICERS SWORD WITH SCABBARD
Out of stock
First World War era 1821 Pattern British Light Cavalry Officers Sword with Scabbard.
Features a nickel 3 branched guard, with full chequered back strap. The wire bound fish skin grip is in very good condition. The inner central guard branch is stamped with the makers mark. The 84cm long, straight blade shows very good etchings of foliate patterns with royal cypher (King George V), with maker mark for Fenton Brothers of Sheffield, Sword Cutlers to the War Office. The nickel scabbard is in good condition, with dark age & rubbing/wear. There are 2 very minor dings overall, with field altered ‘U’ shaped suspension rings, which I would suspect would have been added to limit the movement of the harnesses whilst riding on horse back. Impressive large size, being 106cm overall.
