Court mounted for display WW1 British Army 1915 Star Trio to 2nd Lieutenant Wilfred Burt.

*British War Medal and Victory Medal named in impressed capitals: 2 LIEUT W BURT.
Medals are court mounted for display, with Burt's S.W.B. sewn to ribbon of victory, missing pin. Comes with photocopies of M.I.C. hospital letter, wound badge roll and photo of Burt wearing tropical uniform while serving with the South African Machine Gun Detachment. Also included is the medal box issued with the medals.
Wilfred Burt lived in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and served in the South African Army, serving in German South West Africa and the rebellion in the Orange Free State. He was subsequently commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, with the Northumberland Fusiliers, fighting in France from 7th January 1918 and being invalided to the UK on the 8th March 1918 as a result of wounds sustained.
