Albert Ernest Pearson was born 1895. Home address recorded as Sheerness. Enlisted 14/9/1914 to Royal East Kent Yeomanry. Served Gallipoli & Egypt. Regimental number 1951. Landed Gallipoli 7/10/15. Gallipoli movements of the E.K Yeomanry: 1st October 1915 Arrived Lemnos. Remained in Mudros harbor then to Helles and landed on the 8th. Moved forward up Gully Ravine and to bivouac near Gully Farm. Attached to 42nd Division. It is recorded by Ian Hamilton in his book Gallipoli Diary that many of the Regiment has caught enteritis. Relieved by the 1/10th Manchester Regt at Fusilier Bluff on the 12th. November: Tours of duty in forward area Border Barricade & Fusiliers Buff. December: Evacuated to Mudros from V beach during the night of the 30th. Transferred whilst in England to W Class reserve 18/9/1916. This date is by his statement but 17/11/1916 from RFC records. From the newspaper article wounded at Gallipoli. Joined RFC 31/12/1917 as an Officer cadet with the number 117063. Served as Hon. Lt. Qtr. Mstr. 44th Bn A.I.F. (October 1917 Officer list refers). He was discharged 16/7/1918 after being found unsuitable as a serving officer. His R.F.C. enlistment papers gives his occupation as draftsman, which he had changed to carpenter and joiner.
