Offered is an original 1918 dated Wilkinson made First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard.
Bayonet & scabbard features steel fittings, with pommel & working release button, used condition wooden grips and metal guard. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped Wilkinson (Sword), dated 1918. The blade being factory sharpened only, with some of the original protective blued finish to blade. Standard leather & metal WW2 issue marked scabbard, with WW2 era mouth piece, showing good honest use to the leather body. Overall length: 58cm long. A near mint example bayonet, as used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle.
