WW2 BRITISH AUSTRALIAN ARMY FAIRBAIRN & SYKES COMMANDO KNIFE SWORD & SCABBARD
Offered is an original WW2 2nd Pattern, B2 made Fairbairn Sykes Commando Fighting Knife & Scabbard. 2nd Pattern Fairbairn Sykes 'FS' Fighting Knives were introduced in 1941. This is excellent condition WW2 2nd pattern, B2, FS dagger and scabbard (See page 22-24 of 'Fairbairn-Sykes Commando Dagger' By Leroy Thompson). The hilt is darkened brass with knurled brass grip and an oval cross guard. The top of the cross guard is stamped with the correct 'B2' designation and a War Dept. arrow. The 16cm long double edged blade shows minor use and is retains an excellent 'blued' finish. Very light wear overall with light sharpening to edges. It's original scabbard with blackened brass chape and belt loop has had it's sew on tabs retained. A medium brown paint scheme has been period applied to the scabbard, with small sections showing wear. The scabbard has retains the elasticated retaining strap. All stitching and leather are intact. Overall a fine piece, which will look amazing in your commando display or edged weapon collection.
