***SOLD*** Offered is an exceptionally fine condition WW2 era 1827 Pattern Australian or British Royal Naval Officer’s Sword, Scabbard & Leather belt assembly. The sword features a fine gilt lion’s head pommel, with maine backstrap, white ray skin grip with wire wrap and gilt brass guard, showing the fouled anchor & crown, with folding/locking langet. Full bullion knot is attached. 81cm long, straight nickel blade, shows etching to both sides of fouled anchors, royal crown & cypher for King George VI. Leather belt assembly shows the polished black leather belt, with hanger attachments, gilt crown/fouled anchor buckle, maker marked for E. W. CRACKNELL & SON. SOUTHSEA.
I've yet to see a finer condition naval service sword, with fine gilt finish overall, with metal & leather work near to mint condition, which would be hard to better. Perfect for use as a service sword today.
