WW2 German Air Force (Luftwaffe) Officer's peaked cap by the Erel. This well made wartime cap features a great shaped peak, with silver bullion piping overall, with one small threaded section to right rear of cap. The blue wool is free of damage or staining and retains a very good shape overall. The beaded cap badge is in great condition, retaining the bullion winged cap badge and officer's woven eagle atop. Retains bullion chin chords and side buttons. The peak shows overall wear, but is firm and shows light wear to underside green section. The interior silk remains, with centre celluloid diamond and Erel 'Sonderklasse' makers mark. The leather sewatband has had a hard life, with some sections missing, but the Patent mark showing to right side. A well worn old timer, but displays exceptionally well.
