WW2 Germany SS 2nd pattern dagger & scabbard by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. Strong and clear “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” on the blade, marked “RZM 1053/38” (WKC; Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co.) with the SS runes on the reverse ricasso. Cleaned residue marks on the 22cm long blade, retains beautiful cross graining, exhibiting the usual in and out runner marks. Nickel plated fittings on both cross guards, exhibiting light contact and some oxidation. The ebony-coloured wooden handle has no chips or cracks, showing usual wear with the SS button and eagle firmly in place. Embedded aluminium eagle shows nice detail and rates very fine. The SS insignia exhibits light contact, pommel remains tight. The anodized scabbard with nickel-plated fittings exhibit light contact marks, the locket held in place via two screws, with a single screw holding lower fitting securely in place. Overall, better than very fine.
