WW2 RUSSIA SOVIET UNION ARMY ORDER OF RED STAR MEDAL LOW NUMBER 761165

Measures 47mm in diameter, Order of the Red Star, 2nd type, numbered, by the Monetarny Dvor (Leningrad Mint). Five-pointed silver and red enamel star; the face with a circular silver medallion imposed, the base scalloped, bearing the full-length figure of a soldier, face-on, a rifle held across his body, advancing to the right within a ring inscribed ‘ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!’ (Proletárii vsex stran, sojedinjájtes! = Workers of the World, Unite!) and CCCP (= SSSR for Sojus Sowjetskich Sozialistitscheskich Respublik = Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) below, a silver hammer and sickle at the base; the reverse plain with the maker’s mark ‘МОНЕТНЬІЙ ДВОР’ (= Monetarny Dvor, the Leningrad Mint) & serial #761165 on back. Very good overall condition showing some light age patina overall. This was awarded sometime in the middle of 1943 during WW2.
