PRE WW2 WEIMAR GERMAN ARMY ETCHED ARMY OFFICER’S SWORD & SCABBARD

Offered is a superior quality etched Weimar era German Army Officer's Sword with Scabbard.

The sword is an 1889 Pattern Officer's type, with nickel backstrap and doves head pommel, with wire wrapped black celluloid grip and engraved langet 'Ropfgart 4.4.30'. The slightly curved 84.5cm long blade shows beautiful etchings to both sides of the blade, as well as the spine, running half the length, showing trophies of arms, uniforms, drums, caps etc. The lower portion of the right-hand side of the blade is engraved '10.A.R.2. 7.A.R.2. Lehrko. 1. A. R. Rendsburg. U. - Stab. I./ A.R. 20', these being units served within his service time.

The blade fits smoothly into the blued service scabbard, retaining it's fixed suspension ring, showing little or no wear overall.

A terrific etched blade and one not often seen with additional service time engraving.
