Offered is a very rare ‘Le Cateau’ Prisoner of War medal group to Private Bishop, 1st Battalion, The Hampshire Regiment, who was a pre war regular, then a time expired soldier, who was re called to the colours at the outbreak of the war. He was wounded in action at Le Cateau and taken prisoner by the Germans, he recovered from his wounds but contracted T.B and was repatriated to England via the Red Cross in Switzerland.
