Offered is a British War & Victory pair of medals, as awarded to Private Leo Cook, who was badly wounded in 1917 and returned to Australia as a result. Medals impressed named 3983 PTE L. COOK. 2 BN. A.I.F. Medals come with original ribbons, his Silver War Badge, stamped A65358 & named aluminium dog tag. Leo Cook was born in 1888 in Dubbo, N.S.W. He enlisted 8/9/1915 at Warwick Farm, N.S.W. He served in France from 26/5/1916 with the 2nd Battalion (12th Reinforcements), charged with being drunk & disorderly whilst being absent from guard duty 3/6/1916, being severely wounded in...

Leo Cook was born in 1888 in Dubbo, N.S.W. He enlisted 8/9/1915 at Warwick Farm, N.S.W. He served in France from 26/5/1916 with the 2nd Battalion (12th Reinforcements), charged with being drunk & disorderly whilst being absent from guard duty 3/6/1916, being severely wounded in the abdomen, shoulder, rectum & pelvis 27/7/16, being hospitalised and returne to Australia 14/1/1917. He died in Sydney 27/9/1956 & is commemorated at Rookwood Crematorium.
