Offered is a British or Australian (RAAF) Air Force issue King George V (1910-1936) officer’s Sword,numbered 9188, straight fullered plated blade, measuring 84cm marked ‘HAWKES & Co-Ltd- Sword Cutlers. 1 SAVILE ROW.LONDON-W.I.-‘ to blade ricasso. Beautifully etched with blank battle honour panels and outstretched crowned eagle to both sides of blade. The ornate guard features the George V cypher and crowned eagle within a plated pierced brass guard. Ornate backstrap and sectioned pommel, along with the wire wrapped white sharkskin grip tops off the deluxe overall impression of this most sought after sword.
